RME - All aboard the Bible bus

We've had the Scottish Government's cooking bus and Edinburgh Zoo's wild bus; now it's time for the Bibleworld mobile, a 45ft, 14-ton expanding classroom divided into six activity zones, each one designed to bring the Bible to life.

The Bibleworld mobile, produced by the education department of the Scottish Bible Society, is designed to support religious and moral education, offering P5-S1 pupils a lively introduction to the Bible and aspects of the story of Christianity.

The trailer can take up to 13 classes each week, with a maximum of 36 pupils in any one session. Throughout the 70 minutes they are on board, the pupils will engage in educational activities ranging from computer- driven quizzes to cuneiform writing in "The Museum" activity zone.

The Bibleworld mobile includes activities related to various aspects of Christianity:

- biblical and Christian stories;

- teachings of Jesus;

- beliefs;

- moral values;

- festivals and celebrations.
