Roedean places

Roedean, the girls' independent school near Brighton, is among the 63 schools joining the assisted places scheme which will add more than 1,000 to the 34,000 places already on offer, Cheryl Gillan, the Schools' Minister announced last week. For the first time, more than 130 places will go for five to eight-year-olds, as well as 640 for 11 to 13-year-olds and nearly 340 for sixth formers.
