Pupils chosen to demonstrate the value of Glasgow’s innovative vocational education programme, now the subject of Scottish Qualifications Authority approval, came from St Margaret Mary’s Secondary in Castlemilk.
Purely coincidentally, Anton Colella, the authority’s head of qualifications, was once a depute head there.
Similarly, Blackridge primary in West Lothian was chosen to demonstrate the value of daily physical activity to Jack McConnell - conveniently a short early morning hop from the First Minister’s humble abode in North Lanarkshire.
Purely coincidentally, Blackridge is also the native village of Mary Allison, the fitness tsar.
