George Heriot’s School won a bronze medal in the girls’ junior A team coxed fours race at the British Schools Rowing Championships at the National Rowing Centre in Nottingham. The team finished just 10 seconds behind St Edward’s School, Oxford in the 2,000-metre race.

It was a considerable achievement as the girls had to step up an age group for the race. They could not row in the 16-and-under race because they had to return home to study for exams.

They were disappointing championships for Scottish schools overall. George Heriot’s was the only one to win a medal.
