Former Airdrie Academy pupil Craig Collin, aged 22, has been appointed as rugby development officer by Dumfries and Galloway Council. He will assist Peter Wright, the Scottish Rugby Union’s development officer in the area, and will work with schools in the authority. He will be concerned primarily with S1 and S2 pupils in the new term with a view to feeding them into the established clubs of Stewartry, Newton Stewart and Wigtownshire.
