The Scottish Rugby Union has announced the appointment of three new development officers who will work closely with schools.

Paul Tyler has been appointed in Inverclyde, bringing the total of development officers in the Glasgow district to 11. He will be based in Wellington Academy in Greenock.

“Given that Inverclyde is a relatively small area, Mr Tyler will be able to cover every primary and secondary school in the area,” says SRU development manager Colin Ireland.

Graham Shiel, the former Scotland centre, has taken up the position at East Lothian, based at Meadowmill in Tranent.

Roddy Deans has been appointed development officer for the city of Edinburgh.
