The British Library will opening its doors to RE teachers and pupils, when it hosts a series of workshops in the lead-up to its exhibition, Sacred, in the spring.

The exhibition, due to open in April, will display some of the library’s texts from Christian, Islamic and Judaic traditions.

Teachers and pupils are invited to take part in discussions with curators about the rare texts. One workshop, entitled “Spiritual Reasoning”, will feature teenagers from different religions discussing what their holy texts have in common.

Lat Baylock, editor of RE Today magazine, said: “The ancient texts are stunning and raise a series of important issues on religious beliefs today.”
