Safe web surfing

https://www.tes.com/magazine/archive/safe-web-surfing
A website for advising children, teachers and parents about how to surf the internet safely has been launched by the Scottish Executive. In association with, among others, Childline and the DfES, thinkuknow.co.uk contains a parents and carers section, with a Home Office publication on how to ensure children are using the internet safely. It describes existing risks and outlines how to block unsuitable material.

There is also a link to case studies provided by the DfES. The children’s section tells them what to do and what not to do to stay safe online. Case studies help bring the subject matter home to them and games add a bit of fun to a serious topic. The home page features text-only and Welsh versions of the information.
