SportScotland has awarded pound;303,537 to the Royal Yachting Association of Scotland to help develop sailors to follow in the wake of double Olympic gold medallist Shirley Robertson.

Much of the money will be used to provide equipment and coaching to schoolchildren and to make the sport more accessible to all.

The RYAS has recently been promoting sailing in cities in a bid to involve children who would not normally have access to the sport.
