Sandra Allan is a Primary 3 teacher at Burntisland primary, the only primary school in a seaside community in Fife She has taught at the school for 14 years and is a treasured member of staff. She is nominated this week for our flowers, champagne and chocolates by fellow teacher Andrew McNeil, who is full of admiration. The school has just undergone a successful inspection, and while this brought out her dedication and professionalism, it is for her “care for body and soul” that he says she deserves “roses and more roses”.

Sandra, he says, has extremely high standards and is a wiling tutor to other teachers. She works tirelessly for others and never misses the chance to be kind and look after those most in need.

“She’s a modest person but she is foremost in looking to the welfare and care of our youngsters,” says headteacher Duncan Clark. “I’m very happy she has been recognised in this way.”
