Secondary schools can create an online newspaper simply and for free using a new US-based website called Highwired.Net. The process is simple: students copy their articles on to a form on the site, which then goes to a password-protected staging area where a teacher can check them before they are put on the school’s newspaper site. The company claims that students can learn how to use the site in 10minutes. Highwired.Net also plans to set up a system allowing schools to regularly exchange stories, thereby forging links at the same time.
