Science Alive at Alton Towers and Design and Technology Alive at Alton Towers are two new key stage 3 resource packs structured around a visit to the Park, produced in association with Manchester University’s Mechanics in Action programme.

The science pack examines potential energy and speed in relation to rides such as the Thunder Looper, and resistive forces and changing velocity, using water rides like the Log Flume and Congo River Rapids. Topics in the design pack include linear, rotary and complex motion, structural rigidity and strength and the changing force in structures. A video supports the written material. Pounds 9.99 each.

Details: Alton Towers, Staffordshire ST10 4DB. Tel: 0990 204060.
