Royal Academy of Engineering
As National Science and Engineering Week approaches (9-18 March), we are focusing on TES partner the Royal Academy of Engineering, which promotes excellence through key stage 3-4 Stem (science, technology, engineering and maths) teaching materials.
What are the resources?
- Milk can be turned into plastic with its most popular resource, "Milking It". The instruction guide is clear and colourful.
- Winter Olympics-themed activity "Athlete or Machine" asks which is more important in the bob skeleton event. Students develop research skills and carry out their own practical investigation.
- "Keeping It Cool", one of its latest resources, recreates Solar Orbiter's planned journey to the Sun using chocolate - at what temperature will the chocolate melt?
All of the organisation's resources include industry links and case studies, and explain how the experiments link to real Stem careers. Visit its profile on TES for more inspiring science.
