The article about routes into teaching was accompanied by notes titled “Five routes” which provided inaccurate information on School-Centred Initial Teacher Training.

SCITTs are partnerships between the LEAs, schools and institutes of higher education. The Oxfordshire Consortium offers a 38-week, full-time PGCE and is totally inappropriate for those with jobs or care responsibilities. The entry criteria are in common with validating institutes, in our case, the Westminster Institute of Education at Oxford Brookes, and we look for evidence of previous experience in state provision. While we welcome applications from overseas candidates their entry qualifications must demonstrate parity with UK equivalents.
