A newly qualified teacher will be allowed to repeat her failed induction year, after the General Teaching Council for England ruled that external circumstances had worked against her. Staff at St Anne's RC primary, in Hampshire, told the disciplinary hearing that Rosalind Wortley was unable to control her class. One teacher said she had seen a child holding a rope around another's neck. Ms Wortley said she had been prevented from completing her induction year by staff who did not give her feedback after observing her lessons. Her first term was made more difficult by an Ofsted inspection, and there were three heads at the school during her time there.
