WITH teenage pregnancy high on the current political agenda, your mention of Brook’s sex education resource for secondary schools, Understanding Contraception, was timely (TES, December 18).
However, you inadvertently fell into the trap of linking contraceptive education solely to girls. The teaching pack aims to prepare both boys and girls with the information and skills they need to choose and access contraception. Boys urgently need to be involved in sex education.
Understanding Contraception - tailormade for busy teachers - does just that.
