Sex confusion

Staying in Brighton, a cautionary tale about technology: Ms Georgina Colchester was surprised to receive automated calls from Blatchington Mill school accusing her of allowing her daughter to skip school. Her shock was understandable: she used to be a mister and, although the operation she had does much, it cannot make her a mother. The school admits that its automated truancy alert scheme had the wrong number and has apologised.
