NORTH Lanarkshire’s Learning Centre has launched a website, www.thelearningcentre.org, to share ideas and approaches with others working in the fields of education, information and communications technology and multimedia.

With apt timing, the website features a case study on the Wilfred Owen war poem, Dulce et Decorum Est. This project illustrates the type of work undertaken in the centre where ICT is used to enhance learning.

Sound engineering software, available free, helps students to understand the poem and bring it alive. They can access the internet to see how to build up layers of sound to paint an audio picture of war, sadly as relevant today as it was almost 90 years ago.
