Shayler question

The former MI5 agent David Shayler was a controversial guest at our recent Question Time event (TES, March 30), but to imply that his anti-Zionist remarks were supported by most students is false. While his rhetoric was applauded, it was also booed. Let us not forget this was a political debate, with students encouraged to make up their own minds on matters.

The panel also consisted of two parliamentarians, a journalist and a student and, as in any real edition of Question Time, they and members of the audience challenged and debated the views of all the panellists.

I am proud of the students who organised and attended this debate, which showed that our students are willing to involve themselves in politics.
