Q: One of my Year 8 girls is worrying me - she’s no trouble, but she seems to be losing weight. She’s fidgety and drinks water all the time. She doesn’t want to talk about it. Am I poking my nose in?
A: You’re right to be concerned. These may be signs of an eating disorder and if so, she needs help quickly. Take your concerns to the head of year andor the school nurse, and let them investigate further. Even if there’s nothing wrong with her, you’re doing the right thing by alerting those who can help.
We’re happy to answer your problems about any aspect of your NQT year.
