In response to the “Acronym agony” letter (May 21), CPD is not an acronym - it’s an abbreviation. An acronym is an abbreviation that people pronounce as a word, such as “Senco”. I once taught in a school where the maths department wanted “course-related assessment profiles” until the head said no.
