Should we ban naked cherubs?

The article “Net porn alert on pupils in PE kit” (TES, December 15) highlights the extremes to which some people are prepared to go to impose their view of “political correctness”.

If we follow this to its logical conclusion, the old team photographs of pupils in shorts will be removed from school corridors, PE textbooks will need to be re-written and many excellent films willbe banned, such as Lord of the Flies and Billy Elliot.

Soon we will be like Saudi Arabia, where any newspaper photographs showing women’s legs are blacked out by censors.

Surely children can be protected without stooping to this puritanism? I suppose the next thing will be a campaign to destroy undraped ornamental cherubs!
