In this year’s annual report on standards and quality in education by Her Majesty’s chief inspector of schools, a number of schools were named and published in your paper.

The schools were selected because they had both received very positive inspection reports; and had achieved an improvement of examination performances between 1992 and 1994.

Unfortunately owing to an administrative error at the Office for Standards in Education, Saint Peter’s Collegiate School, Wolverhampton was omitted from the list. We have since received an apology from Chris Woodhead, HM chief inspector, and St Peter’s does now appear on a revised list.
