Aberdeen claims more pupils are being taught to sing or play an instrument than in any other authority in Britain. One in eight pupils in primary and secondary (13 per cent) turns up every week to learn from a team of 49 music instructors. Around 3,000 pupils are regularly involved on top of classroom music lessons.
