There was much hullabaloo recently about a nasty little website, www.peaceofminduk.net. It proposed to charge teachers pound;12 to show they had been cleared by the Criminal Records Bureau. The hope presumably was to whip up such parental paranoia about paedophiles that teachers would pay to prove they had been vetted.
So, how is it doing? Well the London list has two staff awaiting certification “Phil MacCavity” of “Grange Hill” who is “good with guns and explosives” and “Ben Dover”. We fear staff are not taking the service seriously.
