(Photograph) - Slam-dunking and bouncing: The minister for sport rolled up his sleeves and got stuck in to a game of basket ball to celebrate a new PE project in schools.
Richard Caborn took on under-15s’ captain Fola Adeleke at Hackney Free parochial school, east London, at the launch of the Living For Sport initiative on Tuesday. The aim of the project is to encourage teachers to use PE and sports to re-engage young people in school.
National trainers will work with 70 participating schools across Britain, helping them to run anything from drumming and gym classes to basket ball and table-tennis lessons.
The scheme is part of the Government’s behaviour improvement programme, run in partnership with BSkyB, the Youth Sport Trust and LEAs.
