Glasgow Museums has launched a series of workshops for P6-S6 pupils to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the abolition of the transatlantic slave trade in 1807.
The Towards Understanding Slavery Past and Present workshops at the St Mungo Museum of Religious Life and Art cover religious and moral education, citizenship and modern studies. Pupils will learn about slavery in the past, the part Glasgow played, how slavery still exists today and the work of organisations such as Amnesty International and the Fair Trade movement.
