Now that the world head-butting and leg-stamping championships are finally over, you would think few people would want to be reminded of the far-from-beautiful game.
Not so.
South Cheshire College, which was rated the best college in England before Ofsted inspections, like A-levels, got easier, last week held a “footballers’ wives” fancy dress theme party for those about to begin their studies in September.
A David Beckham and Posh Spice lookalike couple made a guest appearance at the bash, at the headquarters of Crewe Alexandra, which I understand is a football club.
However, in stark contrast to the real footballers’ wives, the bash was strictly alcohol-free.
