Soccer’s Italian job

An Italian soccer club is sending its players back to school to learn English. Footballers in Serie A Side, Vicenza, which was rescued from bankruptcy by London-based investors Stellican, are the first to have the opportunity to continue their education.

Said director-general Sergio Gasparin: “Now that frontiers have opened up, everybody needs to know languages other than just Italian. And for anyone looking for a transfer abroad, it’s essential.”
