A conference to discuss underachievement among Somali pupils is to be held next week in Cardiff. The conference, at the City Hall on July 13, will be open to primary and secondary teachers, as well as heads and Somali community workers from across England and Wales. Among the issues to be discussed will be the introduction of a Somali language qualification.
Speakers include Martin Orwin, of the School of Oriental and African Studies.
