Some girls don’t get the chance

Having read your report about how “technophobic girls are leaving computing to the boys” (TES, August 17), I wonder whether you have considered that the reason fewer girls opted to study computer courses for A-level was because they do not have a course available to them. My daughter would like to take computer studies next year for AS but the sixth form at her all-girls’ school does not offer it. She therefore must decide whether to leave a school where she is happy or choose another course. She is not technophobic!
