The Assembly government wants TES Cymru readers to know that although it declined to comment on time-scales for the intended pilot scheme giving free laptops to pupils in Wales a commitment in the policy document One Wales it did issue a statement regarding the safe use of wi-fi technology in schools in response to our page 3 article, “Wi-fi scare puts laptops in shade (TES Cymru, September 21).

Local authorities and schools should turn to Becta, co-funded by the government, for advice on ICT issues, including wi-fi.
