Somerset - Festival takes centre stage

English, maths ... and now organising the Glastonbury Festival are all part of the curriculum for children working with one of the men behind the world-famous music event.

Former teacher Mark Cann, pictured, used to combine his job at The Blue School in Wells, Somerset, with helping founder Michael Eavis run Glastonbury. Now he is travelling around the South West sharing his experiences with pupils.

Mr Cann, a Labour parliamentary candidate for North Devon, has been asked by teachers to help children learn how to be organised, come up with imaginative ideas and run a social enterprise.

“Its great fun to be back in the classroom,” he said. KM.
