Space and surroundings do matter

Liz Truss’s document More Great Childcare states: “Current regulations can cause a preoccupation with relatively trivial issues, such as the amount of floorspace per child and whether the nursery has a room where staff can talk confidentially to parents.”

Now, Michael Gove is saying that free schools could be set up in empty hospital wards and outbuildings. Would MPs have a meeting with a distressed constituent in a busy workplace? Are they saying space and surroundings do not matter?

Our children deserve the very best. Mr Gove and Ms Truss are guilty of grossly prejudicing their futures.
