How sad to note that the excellent work of many special schools up and down the country is yet again ignored in Becta’s Harnessing Technology study. As a member of its inclusion expert reference group I find this regrettable.

I hope that The TES would accept that the education of the country’s children with learning difficulties is as valid as that of pupils in other categories. You are in the enviable position of leading the thinking of many of the people who work in education in the UK and beyond.

I trust that you would accept the responsibility to inform people of ideas beyond the core facts of a story. Even if Becta’s entire report ignores the existence of special schools, your journalists should be probing for further information of justifiable interest to the public.
