The Olympics and us

TES partner TrueTube shares a series of short videos produced by young people from East London which question the impact the Olympics may have on their local area.

What is it?

Six videos to inspire discussion and debate about whether the Olympics are a good or a bad thing for local residents:

Who will win the race? Young people role-play as taxpayers, the media, youth, the government and corporate business to explore who will benefit from London 2012.

Our demands: A video manifesto where young people explain what they want from the Olympics.

My 2012: A video poem expressing the concerns people have about the Games, from being forced out of their homes to terrorism.

What do you know about the Olympics? A series of shocking vox pops that emphasise just how little those living in the shadow of the stadium really know about the event.

The Olympics are coming: Representing negative and positive opinion, Alberto and April go out on to the streets of Stratford to canvass public reaction to the Games.

Will the Olympics unite or divide? Young people have their say on subjects from crime to regeneration and pride.
