Special needs nous

A new course has been set up in Gloucestershire to give advice to parents and carers of children with special educational needs. Ten weekly sessions will be held at different locations to ensure as many people as possible have access to the course, which is being run by Gloucestershire County Council. Recognised by the Open College Network, the course will provide information about how to make the most of the services available. Gloucestershire's parent partnership co-ordinator Lyndsey Gill said: "This is a high-quality and user-friendly course that will provide valuable information about the special educational needs framework. It will give people information about how schools work to support children with special educational needs and will provide parents and carers with the information they need to make informed decisions."

Anyone looking for information about the course or about special educational needs, should contact the Parent Partnership Helpline on 01452 426448.
