Children with special educational needs (SEN) in Wales have been given unprecedented rights after the Assembly government agreed a major new education measure. The Education (Wales) Measure will allow children and young people themselves to make SEN appeals and claims of disability discrimination to the SEN Tribunal for Wales. Wrexham and Cardiff councils have been chosen to launch pilot schemes for the new powers.
