Special schools need booster too

I was disappointed to see you did not highlight the plight of special schools and pupil-referral units, which have been omitted from government grants for key stage 3 booster classes.

In making a flat-rate grant to all secondaries, the Government failed to discriminate between schools with different needs. That failure has been compounded by the omission of special schools and PRUs.

This grant has not been distributed in the spirit of inclusion and gives the appearance of being aimed at helping the Government to meet its targets rather than a genuine desire to maximise opportunities for all.
