Specialist to give citizenship a boost

The Office for Standards in Education has appointed its first specialist adviser for citizenship.

Scott Harrison, currently overseeing the subject alongside history, will concentrate solely on citizenship from September 1.

Paul Armitage will become the new specialist adviser for history and Ian Middleton will become specialist adviser for art and design.

Three serving specialist advisers were confirmed in their posts for a further three years. They are Carole Raymond, PE, Margaret Martin-Griffiths, music, and Leszek Iwaskow, geography.
