Splashpower

* If you're taking a portable computer out and about, it's a good idea to have a battery charger to hand. But carrying battery chargers and connecting cables can be a pain. A small Cambridge company plans to launch a new product this Christmas that should make it much simpler to recharge notebook computers and other electronic devices (like mobile phones). The company, Splashpower, has developed a system for recharging portable PCs via a recharging pad, which uses an inductive charging system. You simply place your computer on the pad and it charges. The pad could be built into furniture, and so hotels and cafes could provide a simple way to recharge PCs.
