It would be a pity if the summer’s World Cup, Test Match and Wimbledon hype were to leave youthful couch potatoes too tired to do anything about Sport Relief on July 13. The campaign aims to persuade young people to get healthier and fitter while helping some of their poorest and most vulnerable contemporaries. The bright Schools’ Pack is full of familiar faces offering practical advice and moral encouragement. Ideas for fund-raising including quizzes and sponsored sports days take the field with suggestions for improving pupils’ endurance, team spirit and sense of fun - and the chance of meeting some of the stars. The free Sport Relief pack has been spent to schools. Information on the campaign is at www.sportrelief.com and pupils’ own ideas are welcome.
