The engineering secrets that help top sportsmen and women to achieve success will be revealed in a programme of school lectures due to tour the UK this year.

The tour will examine questions such as how putting spin on a ball can help the likes of Serena Williams and David Beckham.

The lectures are designed to inspire 11 to 16-year-olds to take a keener interest in engineering, science and technology. The tour will begin with a series of lectures at London’s Science Museum on February 24.
