The Scottish Qualifications Authority is planning various courses for teachers to “improve delivery of their subject and increase their knowledge of SQA processes and procedures”.

National Qualifications Revealed is a half-day workshop for new and returnng teachers or further education lecturers. It explains NQs, how awards are made, external moderation, appeals and teaching resources. It will run in Glasgow, Aberdeen and Edinburgh in early November.

Understanding Standards is a series of full-day workshops on the issues affecting candidates’ performance in the 2004 exams, offering points of action to help future candidates’ results. It is offered in a variety of Higher subjects, Intermediate 1 and 2 media studies and Intermediate 2 English. Workshops will run in Aberdeen, Stirling, Edinburgh and Glasgow from August to December.
