St Saviour's and St Olave's Girls' School

* An article about unsatisfactory educational standards in the London borough of Southwark in the December 11 issue of The TES was accompanied by a three-year-old picture of pupils at St Saviour's and St Olave's Girls' School. Although the school was not identified, the choice of illustration was extremely inappropriate because 1995 was the year that St Saviour's and St Olave's was named as the most improved school in London. The school's achievements have also been acknowledged this year by Chris Woodhead, chief inspector of schools, who described it as "outstanding". We apologise for any embarrassment that may have been caused.
