Stands to reason

The teaching of logic to all students is indeed "the only proper way to teach young people how to reason well".

However, I must take issue with Marianne Talbot's dismissal of the theory of knowledge section of the International Baccalaureate diploma. It is all about thinking, and the reasoning skills that she recommends. It explicitly is not a philosophy course, so any examination of Descartes's Meditations would be only incidental. It does state that a study of logic is required.

I suggest that she, and anyone else interested in Sir Ron Dearing's recommendation, might take a closer look at this excellent programme.
