Yehudi Menuhin, Julian Lloyd Webber and Eric Delaney are just some of the big names that graced the stage at the Royal Albert Hall in the early days of the annual Music for Youth Schools Prom. The event has taken place every November for the past 30 years, a landmark that is celebrated this year with a photographic exhibition running at the RAH until November 25. The exhibition is free to visitors taking a tour or attending a show.

Reflecting the Prom’s changing styles of music and presentation over the years, the exhibition, which is sponsored by The TES, the National Union of Teachers and the RAH, also remembers guest performers such as Rick Wakeman, John Williams, Nigel Kennedy and Ronnie Scott. Not forgetting, of course, the thousands of young performers who are invited to the Prom following outstanding performances at the NationalFestival of Music for Youth every July.
