State pupils miss out on books

MANY primary school children do not have access to the textbooks they need for study at school and home. Nearly a quarter of seven to 11-year-olds in state school have books for all five main subjects compared with 100 per cent of their fee-paying counterparts, according to research by the School Book Alliance.
