A mother waiting to collect her daughter on the third day of the new session at St Bridget’s primary in Baillieston was taken aback when the child began shouting: “Mummy, the janny’s a murderer.”

Passions were calmed when investigation revealed that the janny’s “victims” were wasps that had invaded the school grounds.
