It’s official: professional development means talking rhubarb. Lesley Franks of Compact Education Business Services, who has confirmed our suspicions by organising a training day in Wakefield in March 7 on the theme of the purgative plant.
Apparently Wakefield has an annual Rhubarb Festival, a mysterious “rhubarb triangle” (eat your heart out, Triad gangs), and a prize-winning rhubarb cheese called “Ruby Gold.”
All these delights will be explained to - and sampled by - the key stage 4 teachers who attend the workshop. There will even be a chance to buy your very own rhubarb root. Irresistible.
